The Neurological Integration System (NIS)

This is the brainchild of New Zealand Osteopath, Dr Allan Phillips, who has found that we are all in fact children of our own brains.  By  this I mean that our brains, like loving parents, nurture and look after every aspect of our health and well being 24 hours a day and are capable of keeping us in perfect health.

The question then arises that if this is the case why then are we not all in perfect health.  Part of the answer is certainly that we may have been born with genetic problems that simply cannot be solved by the brain or that we may have sustained irreparable damage to some part of the body.  However, in the vast majority of cases, we are not as healthy as we could be because our brains, over time, have developed some short circuits in their Neurological wiring.

These short circuits will have resulted from some kind of trauma be it physical, emotional, chemical or pathogenic.  As a result of these short circuits our brain may not have recognised that we have a problem that needs to be dealt with or having acknowledged that there is a problem it is unable to muster the resources to deal with it.

Thus with NIS, instead of treating the symptoms of the problem, the practitioner identifies the various short circuits and, using very simple techniques, re-establishes the functional neurological connections so that the brain can get on and deal with the symptoms.

The reason that this works so well is simply because there is nothing or no one that knows our own bodies better than our own brains.  Seek advice from 6 different therapists and you will probably get 6 different explanations for your problem with 6 different treatment approaches recommended.   No one can ever know as much about your own body as your own brain so why not appeal to your brain to do the work.  The practitioner's role is simply to help the brain out by finding and eliminating the short circuits.

This is done using muscle testing (kinesiology) techniques.  This is a highly efficient way of communicating with the brain on an unconscious level.  If you have not come across this approach to diagnosis and treatment before your practitioner will explain how it works and show you how it's done.
